I looked everywhere for a vintage looking semi mount for my diamond, and finally found this. The previous reviewer eased the process for me by saying it was a quality setting, and let me say he is right: the ring is very well finished, hefty, and there are details that are not clear on the pics, like the background of the shoulders is satin, while the swirls on top are plished. It also looks in person a lot shinier than in the pics, which I’m not sure that I love but for sure I don’t hate. My diamond is half a carat and I think it is the perfect size for the setting, as a larger stone on this very detailed ring would be just overkill. My stone is also very high quality so I didn’t worry about the stone not getting enough light from behind, but in case you are wondering, the basquet is fairly open and I’m sure it will help less than ideal rocks get their light from everywhere.

Purchased this ring and was a little skeptic the quality wouldn’t be there – but I was wrong. My jeweler even commented on how it was a great ring and his favorite design. They were able to resize it without any problems and even took out some of the gold in the middle to fit in a bigger diamond. It turned out perfect and we’ll see on Valentine’s Day if she thinks it is too.
