Yes, they are uncommon. The purpose of the diamond is that it lasts forever, just like your love. If you can’t afford it, get a small one or a ring with severl small diamonds, but don’t get a fake one it does make the woman look less important, unless of course, that’s what she wants.

No, its whatever you can afford w/out breaking the bank…Talk about it first, if she’s gonna be your future wife then you should talk to her about it, and if you cant afford it now get a lab created diamond and then later upgrade…Do what you can do.

Who is going to know what the ring is, if you keep your mouth shut. It’s no ones business but yours!

They’re becoming a little bit more popular – I’ve read that some movie stars have opted to wear these kind of diamonds because they’re conflict free!

A lab created diamond has the exact same properties a real diamond has – except for the age. So they look exactly the same!! The only way to distinguish them is if you measure and compare the carbon 14 on each one of them.

I’m a Biologist and I highly support Science and technology.
Personally, I’d prefer a lab created diamond because that’s the only way you can be completely sure it’s not a blood diamond. Plus you can get them in pretty colors (blue, pink, yellow). And they’re good for your finances! I see it as a perfect alternative and I’d be happy to have one.
I don’t think it makes a woman look less important to the man!

I do believe the engagement ring will mean whatever you and your partner want it to mean =) Just make sure to talk about it first. Good luck!

I don’t know if they are uncommon or not! You can’t tell the difference between them and a real diamond, so you’d only know if someone told you it was LC. And why would they?

I don’t think it makes it look like the woman is less important. I think it is SMART to buy something just as beautiful at a fraction of the price. No one will have died over a LC diamond!

There is no such thing as a “lab created diamond”. A diamond is a diamond and it has unique physical properties. The closest we have come to imitating a real diamond-in terms of appearance- is moissanite, which can look like a real diamond by an untrained eye. Usually the sheer size of a moissanite jewelry will give it away. I don’t get the point of buying a moissanite “engagement” ring if the ring is HUGE. You’re just giving yourself away.

If you can’t afford a diamond, a good alternative is a sapphire.

I’m not married or engaged but I’ve been doing in depth research on diamonds lately and i must say that the lab created diamonds are gorgeous!!! I think if you can pay less for the ring, you can save for the wedding and or honeymoon. I don’t think the ring should play such a role of importance between man and wife. Love should be the most important factor. Rings are symbols.
