Looking for a good store to buy an engagement ring. Want good quality (obviously) and reasonable prices, also helpful staff because I don’t know anything about ring shopping!

At Shane co they have a thing where you can buy a ring and trade it in at any point over the years for an upgrade. That was a great selling point for us. They were also very nice. Congrats on getting engaged!!
By far, the most trustworthy jeweler i have experienced as a fellow San Diegan was at Jessop Jeweler. They really do have a really great selection of fine diamonds and jewelery pieces, and the people who worked there were very helpful in explaining to me the “Four Cs.” I have always felt helped and confident that I have choosen the best item.
Charles Koll at Fashion Valley Mall. They have Hearts on Fire Diamonds there.
I got my wife’s ring at Diamond Brokers of Florida:

Or you could check out these other online sources:
http://www.WhiteFlash.com
http://www.GoodOldGold.com
http://www.ExcelDiamonds.com
http://www.BlueNile.com
Blue Nile’s database is good, but they don’t provide you with photos or analysis reports (ASET, Isee2, B-scope, etc) of the diamond. I wouldn’t go with them for that reason.
Happy hunting.

I would shop online, no question. You can find the exact same ring for up to 30% less.
Try http://www.bluenile.com or http://www.jamesallen.com/engagement-rings/
I prefer James Allen because they have actual photos of every ring on the site so you can see exactly what you’re buying. Plus, the have a no hassle 30 money back return policy.
Good luck!
