What is your favorite type of engagement ring? *pic*?

Would the band be gold, silver, platinum, white gold, etc…

Would you just want diamonds, or a mix of diamonds and something else?

How many stones and what size; solitaire, three, an entire band of stones?

What shape would you want (princess, emerald, marquis, pear, etc)?

Would you want something engraved on it? Do any of your choices have symbolic meaning?

Vintage, antique, heirloom, so many choices!

Post pics if you want. Here’s my fav:

Classic =) But I would appreciate a well-loved heirloom even more!

What about you?

I would want three rectangular diamonds (the center one the biggest). I like platinum for the band. Of course, this is pretty expensive. :)

My engagement ring is AMAZING. My fiance had it custom made for me and my love of anything PINK! He also knew I really wanted a Canadian diamond, so I was so excited/surprised when he popped the question with the most perfect ring (and what it looked like was a total surprise).

It’s a three stone, white gold ring with a trellis style setting (a cross-over type design on the side of the setting). The centre diamond is 0.6 carats, excellent cut, F colour(less), VS2 clarity. Because I have very tiny fingers (size 3.5) my fiance saved money on getting a smaller size diamond and splurged on getting a really high quality one. Anything bigger than 0.7 would have gotten so knocked around on my little hands (the jeweler who made my ring advised home of that), and because the cut rating is so high is so SO sparkly! I’ve had strangers walk up to me an compliment my ring on how it bounces light around the room … it’s breathtaking every time I look down at my hand and see it (and think of my amazing fiance)!

What makes my ring truly “mine” is that instead of a three-stone diamond ring, the side stones are pink sapphires. I love pink, and this ring is definitely just for me!

I am not really a fan of three-stone diamond rings (probably because I love my pink side-stones), but I also like kind of antique looking rings too. My ring is very “timeless” in style, because it’s so simple. We are having a matching band made with alternating diamonds and pink sapphires around it, with a mill-grain edging, which to me looks very victorian. My fiance is having a plain white gold mill-grain edged band made for him.

Oh yeah! The one that’s your favorite is the one I got for my wife, only I went with Diamond Brokers of Florida rather than Excel Diamonds:

The design is timeless. Also, less is more.

My engagement ring is round brilliant, set in platinum with pave set diamonds on the sides, custom made for me. I love the sparkle of a round brilliant.

I also like emerald cut, but they sure do not sparkle like a round brilliant. There are patented cuts out there like the prince cut that are gorgeous, but cost way too much for the same size diamond.

Honestly, I think most diamonds are gorgeous, but I really am not partial to marquis cut because it looks like an old lady cut to me. To each her own, however.

Edit: Here is mine E color, VS2 clarity, 1.03 carats.

I would want a simple classic band. Like a cathedral style setting, with a little detailing on the sides of the ring (not on the left and right of where the diamond would be, but kind of underneath the diamond.)
And then as a center i would have a solitaire 1.5 ct cushion cut (only because i prefer larger jewlery.) I really love tacori and tiffanys engagement ring selections.
But i have a simple band with a 1ct princess cut.

My grand mother gave me her engagement ring and my fiance bought me the sapphire diamond wedding band. I love sapphires. He wanted me to wear the ring cuz he didn’t just want it sitting in a box until we got married. Im complied. Im not superstitious so its no big deal.
I love my ring and it didn’t put us in debt, that’s what the wedding is for lol, Just kidding. The wedding will be about 5,000 dollars. Small and simple just the way I like it.

Here’s my ring – the engagement ring is the one with the larger diamond.

    I love it.
